LAPO advocates financial inclusion for underserved communities

LAPO Microfinance Bank  has advocated financial inclusion for underserved communities

In a statement made available to The PUNCH on Sunday, the bank noted that it was actively championing financial inclusion across Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to empowering underserved communities.

It stated, “In recent years, Nigeria has made significant progress in expanding financial services, but millions still lack access to formal financial systems. LAPO Microfinance Bank is addressing this gap by designing tailored financial products specifically for women, small businesses, and low-income communities.

“Through offerings like SME Loans, Xpress Savings, Fixed Deposits, and debit cards integrated with mobile banking solutions, LAPO is enabling individuals and business owners to access essential banking services.
This mission aligns strategically with Nigeria’s national financial inclusion agenda, led by the Central Bank of Nigeria, and has helped the country make progress toward its financial inclusion targets.”

Speaking on the significance of LAPO MfB’s participation, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at LAPO Microfinance Bank, Oluremi Akande, noted that the bank’s participation in the International Financial Inclusion Conference reinforces its commitment to driving meaningful financial inclusion across Nigeria.

It added, “As an organisation, we recognise that financial inclusion is not merely about access to financial services but also about creating pathways to economic empowerment.
“By providing tailored financial solutions and expanding financial literacy, we aim to build a financially inclusive society where individuals and small businesses can thrive.  This conference has given us a valuable platform to share our mission and collaborate with other stakeholders to create lasting impact.”
